Lucien Garban (Arranger)

Born: 1877 - France
Died: 1959

Lucien Garban studied at the Conservatoire, and subsequently made transcriptions of works by Debussy and Ravel; he was among the audience at the first performance of Pelléas et Mélisande. He went on to become a proof-reader of scores at Durand, the music publishers, and he was a lifelong friend of Ravel. He received frequent letters from him requesting arrangements to be made about his scores and contracts.
