Sune Carlsson (Composer, Arranger)

Born: 1892 - Finland
Died: 1966

Sune Calsson was a Finish church musician, choir conductor and self-taught composer. Turun Kansallismielinen Nuorisoliitto (the Turku Nationalist Youth League) commissioned a minor opera from His single-act opera Väinämöisen kosinta (Väinämöinen’s Wooing, 1914/1956) consists of eight brief scenes, based on the Kalevala. Carlsson was 22 years old when he wrote this setting of a text by Eino Leino for two main soloists, four supporting soloists and piano accompaniment.
