Johann Lorenz Bach [38] (Composer)

Born: September 10, 1695 - Schweinfurt, Germany
Died: December 14, 1773 - Lahm im Itzgrund, Germany

Johann Lorenz Bach [38] was son of Johann Valentin Bach [21]. He was a pupil of J.S. Bach [24] in Weimar from 1715 to 1717, and from 1718 was organist and Kantor in Lahm. An organ fugue in D by him is extant (Orgelwerke der Familie Bach, 1967, p.31); the. manuscript of the prelude belonging to it (incipit in BJb. xxxvii, 1949-50, p.108) was lost in World War II.
