Westminster Symphonic Choir (Choir)
Founded: Princeton, New Jersey, USA
The 175-voice Westminster Symphonic Choir is composed of students at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey. It has recorded and performed with major orchestras under virtually every internationally known conductor of the last seventy years. Recognized as one of the world's leading choral ensembles, the choir has sung more than 300 performances with the New York Philharmonic alone.
Forty members of the Westminster Symphonic Choir are selected evety year for the Westminster Choir, which has been the chorus-in-residence for the Spoleto Festival USA since 1977. A touring ensemble for over sixty years, the Westminster Choir has made several concert tours to Europe and three tours for the State Department.
The Music Director of the Westminster Symphonic Choir is Joseph Flummerfelt.
