Dieter Weimann (Tenor)

Born: 1940 (?) - East Germany
Died: July 1, 1976 - Leipzig, Saxony, Germany

The East German tenor, Dieter, Weimann, was a winner of the IVth International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition 1972, category: Voice men. In just a few years, he had become a distinguished interpreter. From 1974, he was vocal soloist at the Gewandhaus Leipzig. He died in Leipzig in 1976 after a short, severe illness, at the age of 35 years.
