The German soprano, Ruth Weber, studied first school music with the speciality singing at the der Folkwang Hochschule Essen with Professor Claudia Rüggeberg. In 1997 she finished her school music studies with the state examination. From 1996 to 2000 she studied in parallel also at the Fach Musiktheater in Essen, finishing with artistic maturity examination. Since 2000 she studies for concert exam. She took several courses in Lieder interpretation with Axel Bauni and Aribert Reimann, at the Schleswig Holstein Musikfestival 2000, at the Schwerpunkt 20th Jahrhundert, as well as with Dr. Ulf Bästlein, and Prof. Charles Spencer. In 1995 she took part successfully at the Schulmusikwettbewerb (school music competition) in Chemnitz. Im 1998 she was a prize-winner for concert singing at the Landeswettbewerb Gesang NRW für Konzert (national singing competition of North-Rhine/Westphalia). In 2001 she was scholarship holder of the Paula und Albert Salomin Stiftung, promoting the Lieder of the 20th century. |
