Alexa Vogel (Soprano)

Born: 1984 - Arbon, Canton of Thurgau, Switzerland

The Swiss Soprano, Alexa Vogel, studied at Zürich University of the Arts in the class of Professor Lina Maria Äkerlund. She finished her education at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen (Denmark) with a Master of Performance under Kirsten Buhl Møller with the Danish top grade. In addition to that, she operates as a pedagogue at the conservatoire in Arbon, Romanshorn and Winterthur.

Alexa Vogel's first experiences on stage were with the chorus of the St. Gallen theatre. As soloist, she has already obtained various small roles as well as having perfomed in church musical and chamber musical concerts. She played the role of maid Barce in the opera Hubicka by Bedrich Smetana in summer 2009 in the context of “OpernHausen”. In 2012 she performed the role of le Rossignol and le petit vielliard in the opera L’enfant et les sortilièges by Maurice Ravel at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. 2013 she performed the role Frasquita in the opera Carmen at the Musiktheater in Friedrichshafen (Germany).

Her education is complemented by Lieder, chamber music and master-classes under Hans Adolfsen, Professor Daniel Fueter, Professor Peter Ziethen, Mag. Ulrike Sych, Professor Giovanna Canetti, Mariette Nollen, Professor Meinard Kraak and Yvonne Naef, as well as classes in Baroque style singing under Jill Feldmann and Andreas Scholl. In summer 2009 she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in music with distinction. Her Bachelor Thesis was awarded with the cultural promotion prize of the city of Arbon, Switzerland. She passed the pedagogic and vocal Master exams with distinction, which were honored with the prize of the “Werner and Berti Alter-Stiftung”. She is a member of Chor der J.S. Bach-Stiftung St. Gallen (Director: Rudolf Lutz).
