David Villanueva (Baritone)

Born: San Antonio, Texas. USA

The American baritone, David Manuel Villanueva, graduated with a Master’s degree in Voice Performance from the Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University in Bloomington in 1995.

Soon after, David Villanueva began working for the Choral Department of the Jacobs School of Music, rising to the position he holds today as Administrative Director of choral ensembles. In this post, his duties include scheduling and helping to oversee the ensemble placement auditions for nearly 500 students, procuring performance licenses for all music programmed by the department's 12 performing ensembles, and serving as one of the department's representatives on the Performance Coordinating Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the professional choral ensemble Apollo's Voice, which is directed by Chancellor's Professor Emeritus of Conducting Jan Harrington. In 2008, he won the Indiana University Staff Merit Ward, for his exraordinary service to the department and the university.
