Dietmar Schneider (Choral Conductor, Organ)

Born: June 12, 1952 - Wenden, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
Died: February 10, 2017 - Olpe, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

The German choral conductor, organist and church musician, Dietmar Schneider, studied music education and church music, as well as organ and piano in Cologne. He received his concert diploma in the organ with Professor Dr. Wolfgang Stockmeier, conducting with Professor Johannes Hömberg.

In 1985, founded the Kammerchor Olpe and continued to direct it until his premature death in 2017. In addition to his activities as a school and church musician in Olpe, he was a lively concert performer. In addition he had until 1999 a lectureship for artistic and liturgical organ playing at the Kölner Musikhochschule.
