Sigrun Schell (Contralto)

Born: Ulm, Germany

The German contralto, Sigrun Schell, studied singing and flute at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart, and also at the Opernschule (opera school) in Stuttgart.

Sigrun Schell was engaged in Hof, Trier und Mannheim. Since 1998 she is an ensemble member of the Theater Freiburg, where she has appeared so far as Mascha in Drei Schwestern, Mrs. Grose in The Turn of The Screw, Emmy in Vampyr, Barbara in Katja Kabanova, Fedra in Arianna, Helena in Die schöne Helena, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Fremde Fürstin in Rusalka, Lady Macbeth von Mzensk, as well as other roles in Die Grammatik der Träume, Rusalka, Hoffmanns Erzählungen, Wozzeck, Das schlaue Füchslein, Le Nozze Di Figaro / Figaros Hochzeit, and Les Nègres.
