The German contralto, Susanne Schaeffer, had 1995-1996 scholarship of the Stiftung Villa Musica. From 1997 to 2000 she studied music and singing at the Johannes-Gutenberg-Universität in Mainz with Elisabeth Fellner-Köberle and Maria Tuczek-Graf. She also participated in master-classes with Claudia Rüggeberg and Ulf Bästlein, singing interpretation course with Sergiu Celibidache, and Schubert Lieder course with Leonard Hokanson. She has compiled an extensive Lieder repertoire together with her husband, the pianist Burkhard Schaeffer. She has been a repeated prize-winner in national competitions of the Bundeswettbewerbs Gesang. |
