Gam Rose (Tenor)

Born: USA

The American tenor, Gamaliel (Gam) Rose, has performed and recorded with vocal ensembles around the world for twenty years. His more recent efforts have included increasing emphasis on solo and original work. Washington’s Woodley Ensemble, Washington Bach Consort, and National Cathedral Choir have each featured and recorded Rose’s superb artistry.

Gam Rose also directs a vocal schola at the National Cathedral. Hae prizes the art song highly among vocal genres and seeks to widen our understanding of the form. For him, “the line between ‘pop’ and ‘serious’ disappears when the writing is good.”
