Markus Roberts (Tenor)

Born: England

The English-born tenor, Markus Roberts, was engaged during his singing studies at the Bayerischen Staatsoper. But he soon devoted himself to the professional concert singer.

In addition to various guest engagements at the Bayerischer Rundfunk, theaters and opera houses in Munich, and at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, the Schlossfestspielen Herrenchiemsee and the Salzburg Festival, Markus Roberts has worked as a private teacher of singing and music theory.

The focus of this versatile and sought-after artist, however, lies in the solo vocal concert area, which takes him through the whole of Germany and neighboring countries. His repertoire includes the J.S. Bach’s Passions, the Masses and oratorios of Haydn, Schubert and Mozart, Rossini's Petite Messe Solonelle, and numerous solo works of the 20th Century, such as A Child of Our Time by Michael Tippett and the Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramirez.
