Rudolf Reuter (Organ, Harpsichord)

Born: 1920 - Münster, Germany
Died: January 13, 1983

Rudolf Reuter was a German organist, harpsichordist, teacher and musicologist. His whole life work was dedicated to the organ, the exploration of valuable historic organs in Westphalia and its care and restoration.. In addition, as a passionate harpsichordist, he had a collection of historical instruments of Landschaftsverbandes im Erbdrostenhof, including in particular the preservation of the precious Ruckers harpsichord.

In 1966 Rudolf Reuter established the Organ Research Center at the University of Münster. Among his students were Gregor Hollmann, Wolf Kalipp, Stefan Reuter, and Hans Hermann Wickel. Reuter died suddenly on January 13, 1983 at the age of 62.
