Tyler Ray (Tenor)

Born: Wichita, Kansas, USA

The American tenor, Tyler Ray, obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas, studying under Dr. David Weber (2007-2012). Currently he is a student of tenor Dr. Randolph Lacy. He was recently been accepted jointly into the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and the Yale School of Music, on full scholarship, to pursue his Master of Music degree in Voice: early music, oratorio and chamber ensemble, where he will join the Yale Voxtet, Yale Schola Cantorum and study voice with renowned tenor James Taylor.

Tyler Ray is quickly establishing himself as a professional chorister and soloist specializing in early music and oratorio literature. He stays active as a soloist and professional chorister, performing solo recitals in the Wichita area as well as performing with the Wichita State University Concert Chorale, Wichita Chamber Chorale and is a founding member of Ad Astra Singers, a professional chamber choir. He joined the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, a professional choir based out of Santa Fe, New Mexico for its Summer 2014 festival under conductor Joshua Habermann.
