Patrick Radelet (Baritone)

Born: France

The French basss, Patrick Radelet, studied music at the CNR de Reims, where he obtained a gold medal in music formation, a certificate in Fin de Etudes in piano, a gold medal in harmony, a gold medal in unanimity in counterpoint. He then studied singing with Bruce Brewer and then at the CNSM de Paris, where he obtained the gold medal in the class of Fusako Kondo. He won the Maurice Ravel Prize at the Concours International de Mélodie Française du Triptyque de Paris.

After seven years of professorship of musical formation and harmony, Patrick Radelet entered in 1991 the Chœur de Radio France where he was chosen as soloist for several operas or sacred works, including Fidelio by L.v. Beethoven conducted by Kurt Masur, Cardinal by Paul Hindemith and Volo di Notte by Luigi Dallapiccola conducted by Marek Janowski, Il prigioniero by Luigi Dallapiccola conducted by Charles Dutoit, Petite messe solennelle by Rossini conducted by Romano Gandolfi, Noces by Igor Stravinsky at Festival “Présences” of Radio France in Montpellier conducted Thomas Adès, solo of baritone of L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Requiem by Johannes Brahms...). He also performed several solos for Vladislav Chernouchenko, Eric Ericson and Marcus Creed. He has performed in oratorio in Paris, Reims, Brussels: Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) (all bass roles), Masses and Cantatas by J.S. Bach, Dettingen Te Deum by George Frideric Handel, The Creation by J. Haydn (Raphael And Adam), Requiem by W.A. Mozart (including the recording of a CD made in Chartres with the l’Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine), German Requiem by Johannes Brahms, Requiem by Gabriel Fauré, L’enfant et les sortilèges by Ravel.

In recital, accompanied by pianist Julie Brohet, Patrick Radelet has a predilection for Russian melodies, and the German Lieder (Glinka, Sergei Rachmaninov, Schubert). He has performed Schubert's Winterreise several times.

Since 2011, Patrick Radelet has been a member of the Ensemble de Solistes Allegri, as a singer, accompanying pianist and singing conductor.
