Sybille Plocher-Ottersbach (Soprano)

Born: Stuttgart, Germany

The German soprano, Sybille Plocher-Ottersbach, studied from 1984 from 1989 at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich with Professor Raimund Grumbach. From 1986 to 1987 she was member of the oratorio class of Professor Ernst Haefliger and Professor Diethard Hellmann and from 1987 to 1989 member of the opera school of the Musikhochschule with Professor Dr. Peter Kertz und GMD Professor Cornelius Eberhardt. In 1989 she finished the opera and concert exam with honour. In addition she was master-class pupil of the Hochschule für Musik in Munich.

From 1989 to 1991, Sybille Plocher-Ottersbach was member of the Badischen Staatstheaters Karlsruhe. On a tour to Japan she sang in 1992 the role of the Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro under the direction of GMD Hilary Griffith. Since 1992 she is member of the Ulm's Theater. She sang first as lyric soubrette, since 1997 as lyric-dramatic coloratura soprano most large roles. Thus she sang Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart, 1992-1994 seasons), Maria in West Side Story (Bernstein, 1995-1999 seasons), Asteria in Tamerlan (George Frideric Handel, 1996-1997 season), Micaela in Carmen (Georges Bizet, 1996-1997 season), Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel (Engelbert Humperdinck, 1996-1997 season), Norina in Don Pasquale (Donizetti, 1997-1998 season), Cecile in Gefährliche Liebschaften (UA) (Schenker, 1997-1998 season), Saffi in Der Zigeunerbaron (J. Strauss, 1997-1998 season), the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart, 1998-1999 season), Frau Fluth in Die Lustigen Weiber Von Windsor (Nicolai, 1998-1999 season), Olympia, Antonia as well as Giulietta in Hoffmanns Erzählungen (Offenbach, 1998-1999 season) and Mariza in Gräfin Mariza (Kalman, 1998-1999 season). In the season 1999-2000 seasons she appeared at the Ulm's Theater as Rosalinde in Die Fliedermaus (J. Strauss), Wirtin in Eduard Auf Dem Seil (Hiller), Vitellia in La Clemenza Di Tito (Mozart) und die Teofane in Ottone (G.F. Handel).

Sybille Plocher-Ottersbach appeared as a guest at theatres in Innsbruck, Nürnberg, Straßburg, Freiburg, Kiel, Pforzheim, at Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, at the Alten Oper in Frankfurt and at the Großen Festspielhaus in Salzburg.

Sybille Plocher-Ottersbach has also sung in concerts in her homeland and abroad (Passions of Bach, Masses of Mozart, Haydn and Schubert, L.v. Beethoven's 9th Symphony, etc.), and in Lieder recitals in Munich, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, and Ulm as well as in numerous smaller cities. In addition she has taken part in television programmes as well as CD and radio recordings.
