Born: Japan
The Japanese soprano, Yukie Ohkura, won the 13th Min-On Competition in 1978.
She made her debut in 1981 with the role of Juliet in I Capuleti e i Montecchi. With her memorable appearance in 1998 in the title role of Arabella, she becomes widely regarded as one of the leading sopranos in Japan. She has an extensive repertoire and performs frequently with inrernational artists.
