Moon Yung Oh (Tenor)

Born: March 15, 1980 - Seoul, South Korea

The Korean tenor, Moon Yung Oh, had from 1990 to 1996 his first experience in music performance as a member of the Korean Academic Children’s Choir. Front 2000 to 2006, he studied voice at the Seoul Theological University. From 2007 to 2010, he continued his vocal studies in Munich at the Academy of Music and Theatre with Professor Frieder Lang.

Moon Yung Oh presented himself to audiences as the tenor soloist in George Frideric Handel's oratorio, Messiah, in Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio St. Paul as well as in his Symphony No. 2 Song of Praise, in the Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) and St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244) by J.S. Bach and a number of other oratorios.

Moon Yung Oh sang the role of Paolino in the opera Il matrimonio segreto by Domenico Cimarosa - beyond this he appeared in Purcell’s opera The Fairy Queen and as Ferrando in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte.

Since May 1, 2011, Moon Young Oh has been a permanend member of the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks. He currently lives in Munich, Germany.
