Kate Oaks (Flute)

Born: USA

The American flutist, Kate Oaks, graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Music Education. Career choices took her in a different direction, and she is currently employed full time as a systems analyst. The flute remained untouched for many years until she was asked to play in church during worship. Before long, a worship service called for Kate and Linda DeBrita to play a duet, and she knew right away it was a match. Linda DeBrita's talent and enthusiasm have been the motivation to keep playing. Kate participates in several musical groups at church which keep her so busy, that she threatens to form a new church, “The Church of the Blessed Brunch” where no live music is allowed (only CD's), and where the coffee mugs will always be at least half full. Linda DeBrita and John (the official harp mover) just might be her first members. Kate lives in Charlton, New York with her husband Kevin and their two children.
