Orquestra Sinfônica da UCS (Symphony Orchestra)

Born: October 2001 - Caxias do Sul, Brazil

The Orquestra Sinfônica da Universidade de Caxias do Sul (= OSCUS; Symphony Orchestra of the University of Caxias do Sul) integrates the various programs that the University has for the sake of artistic and cultural development of the city and the region. Activities started in October 2001 with concert debut on November 22, 2001.

OSUCS’s structure consists of artistic coordination, supporting staff and musicians spread between strings, woodwind, brass and percussion.

The goal of the OSUCS is to foster and concert music in its highest degree of scholarship, ie quality, thus contributing to the cultural development of the individual, with views on the outcome of the collective, acting in favour of building a society culturally enriched.

The planning of activities is organized to establish this educational and social, cohesive role the institution University of Caxias do Sul
