Magdalena Müllerperth (Piano)

Born: September 18, 1992 - Pforzheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany-

The German pianist, Magdalena Müllerperth, began piano lessons at the age of 5. Three years later she became a student - in 2003 a junior student - of Professor Sontraud Speidel at the Public University of Music in Karlsruhe (Germany). Since November 2007, she has been a student of Professor Alexander Braginsky at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and Hamline University, St. Paul, Minnesota USA, founded by scholarships. Since 1999 she has won more than 35 prizes at piano-competitions, inlcuding the Les Rencontres internationales des Jeunes Pianistesde l´An 2002 in Belgium, the Premio della Critica 2004 (RAI) at Concorso Europeo di Musica in Italy, the German state piano competition Jugend musiziert 2005 and the first prize of the Minnesota Orchestra, Young People´s Symphony Concert Association in the USA.

Despite her young age Magdalena Müllerperth is looking back on a remarkable career. In 2009, she made her solo debut with a recital as part of the monastery Maulbronner concerts. The press wrote: "A fire rages over the keys", but also: ".. the sweet melody of Magdalena Müllerperth .. from cost sensitive and soulful." Her repertoire ranges from J.S. Bach to Maurice Ravel and contemporary compositions. As she describes her favorite piece, "The bread and butter" of Mozart. Her partner at the piano is often Frank Düpree

Beside recitals in Europe, Russia and the USA, Magdalena Müllerperth performs as a featured soloist with renowned orchestras, such as the Baden-Badener Philharmoniker conducted by Werner Stiefel, Slovak Sinfonietta under Peter Wallinger, Kurpfälzer Kammerorchester, Stuttgarter Philharmoniker conducted by Simon Gaudenz, State Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukrain Lugansk conducted by Kurt Schmid and Minnesota Orchestra under Marc Russel Smith.

Since September 2010, Magdalena Müllerperth studies with Jerome Rose at the Mannes College The New School for Music in New York City. In 2010, she gave a concert at Schloss Lichtenberg, and received from the hands of the Deputy Prime Minister of Hesse, Jörg-Uwe Hahn, the Music Prize of the Lichtenberger Musikstiftung Herfried Apel.
