Madonna Meagher (Soprano)

Born: 1955 - Great Barrington, Massachusetts, USA

The American soprano, Madonna Meagher, was during the 1990's and 2000's a member of the Lorien Ensemble, together with tenor Douglas Schmolze, baritone Jack Brown, and pianist Deborah Morris - united by a mutual love for German lieder and a desire to create a Liederabend in the old tradition. Since 1994, the group has specialized in the performance of vocal chamber music incorporating stringed instruments, and in programs that explore the literature of literature of Germany and Austria; France and Spain; Italy; the British Isles; and America. The ensemble was based in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

Currently Madonna Meagher sings in the choir of the First Congregational Church of the United Church of Christ of Stockbridge. She is married to Mark C. Bachman. She currently lives in Great Barrington and works as a clerk in Barrington Performing Arts, Inc. She is a board membes in Great Barrington Zoning Board of Appeals.
