Magnolia Baroque (Baroque Instrumental Ensemble)

Born: Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA

Magnolia Baroque is the largest Baroque performing group to perform for the Eastern North Carolina audience in many years. It is not a typical symphony orchestra, but a real Bach-like Baroque Symphony Orchestra. Magnolia Baroque Ensemble began as a biennial Baroque music festival at Old Salem's Home Moravian Church, joining brilliant early music performers from the Oberlin Conservatory, Vivaldi Project, DC's Handel Baroque Orchestra and NCSA artist faculty..In addition to featured soloists, the Magnolia Baroque ensemble consists of two violins, a viola, a violone, a vello, a theorbo, a Baroque flute, a trumpet and a harpsichord.

The Magnolia Baroque Festival is a biannual celebration of some of the most beloved music of all time. The festival, which takes place in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is a unique opportunity to experience a remarkable series of concerts by gifted musicians from all over the world. The power and beauty of the music, combined with the world-class talent of the performers, sets this festival apart. Not just for Baroque aficionados, the Magnolia Baroque Festival will charm, move, amaze, and even at times amuse, its audience
