Helmut Kühnle (Bass)

Born: Stuttgart, Germany

The German bass, Helmut Kühnle, received his singing gift as bass from the paternal side (although there were only tenor there). Initially he studied singing privately with Hedwig Kuhn-Cantz. The he studied singing at the Opernschule (opera school in) Stuttgart with Kammersänger Josef Traxel. He gained his first opera experience at the Staatstheater Stuttgart and the Landesbühne Esslingen. He was scholarship holder of the Bayreuther Festspiele, and participated in master-class with Professor Lore Fischer.

From 1967 to 1998 Helmut Kühnle was a member of the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart (formerly: Südfunk-Chor Stuttgart). He also appeared as soloist in concerts, under Professor Wolfgang Gönnenwein and the Süddeutscher Madrigalchor, among other things in South America and at the Ludwigsburger Schloßfestspielen. For many years he worked at the Radio Lugano. He was co-founder of the MontanaraChores and is member of the Belcanto-Quintett..
