Vratislav Kriz (Baritone)

Born: July 17, 1957 - Pelhřimov, Czechoslovakia

The Czech baritone, Vratislav Kriz, has been engaged since 1987 at the National Theatre, Prague where he has played many very difficult parts such as Budivoj in Dalibor, Tomes in The Kiss, Marcell in La Bohème, The Marquis of Posa - Don Carlos, Enrico - Lucia di Lamermoor and many others. To these roles he has recently added Don Giovanni in the Mozart opera of the same name and the role of Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte. In addition to the stage of the National Theatre he also performs abroad. He has frequently been invited for tour the United Arab Emirates, and has performed in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, and Japan and in 1997 went on a concert tour of USA. In January 1999 he was invited to Sardinia where he and Eva Urbanova starred in the opera Dalibor by Antonin Dvorák.
