Julia Jurgasch (Soprano)

Born: Straubing, Lower Bavaria, Germany

The German soprano and singing pedagogue, Julia Jurgasch, studied Music Education at the University of Regensburg before continuing her training through postgraduate studies in vocal teaching at the Hochschule für katholische Kirchenmusik und Musikpädagogik Regensburg, which she completed in summer 2010. At the moment she studies with Sibylla Rubens.

Julia Jurgasch The young soprano has already begun her ensemble singing during her studies. Under Frieder Bernius she was able to perfect this ability in the Kammerchor Stuttgart. Currently she performs regularly throughout Germany as a soprano in ensembles such as the ChorWerk Ruhr (Director: Florian Helgath), Gächinger Kantorei Stuttgart, Vocalconsort Berlin and Vocalensemble Rastatt (Director: Holger Speck), where she has worked with conductors including Frieder Bernius, Helmuth Rilling, Florian Helgath, Hans-Christoph Rademann and Jeffrey Tate. Her involvement in these ensembles has also included solo performances and numerous CD recordings, while her concerts engagements have taken her as far as Argentina, North America, Asia and Israel.

The focus of her artistic work lies in the field of concert and oratorio, where Julia Jurgasch increasingly established herself. As a soloist she could be heard in concerts in the Regensburg Cathedral, the Michel in Hamburg and the Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi. Her appearances as a concert soloist are always characterised by great enthusiasm and energy.

In addition to her artistic work, it is very important for Julia Jurgasch to work with pupils and students on the breakdown of her voice. In her function as a vocal pedagogue, she currently works at the Akademie für Darstellende Kunst Bayern in Regensburg and at the Universität Regensburg.
