Markus Jaursch (Bass)

Born: Osterholz-Scharmbeck, Lower Saxony, Germany

The German bass, Markus Jaursch, studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover and was a founding member of the a cappella group "maybebop".

After an engagement at the Volkstheater Rostock, Markus Jaursch moved in 2003 to Saarbrücken, where he is a member of the opera chorus at the Saarländischen Staatstheater. In a number of productions he has appeared as a soloist, most recently as Pacifico Toccato in Offenbach's Die elektromagnetische Gesangsstunde, as Tiera in Kullervo, in the production Die Ankündigung des Goldenen Zeitalters und der Schrecken der Hölle - Die Florentiner Intermedien 1589, as a Ringwraith in Aladin und die Wunderlampe, as well as Count Ceprano in Rigoletto. He will soon sing Mesner in Tosca and Second Armed Man in Die Zauberflöte.
