Alfredo Ihl (Baritone, Choral Conductor)

Born: Temuco, Chile

The Chilean-born German baritone, choral conductor and music rteacher, Alfredo Ihl, studied music education and human medicine with a focus on Early Music. He studied, among others, singing with Ena Thiessen, Uta Grunewald, Martina Borst, Judith Kumfert; master-classes with Jessica Cash, Emma Kirkby, Evelyn Tubb und Uta Grunewald; recorder with Ferdinand Conrad; choral conducting with Heinz Hennig and Jörg Straube; viola da Gamba with Heinrich Haferland.

Alfredo Ihl is Director of the Vokalensemble Raggio di Sol, which he founded in 1994. With this ensemble and as a vocal soloist (among others with Ensemble La dolce vita), he has developed a diverse repertoire and given many concerts. As a vocal soloist, he has played an important role in concerts with early music, oratorios, Lieder recitals and Baroque musicians, especially in the area of ​​Lower Saxony and Bremen. He sings Lieder with Cristian Peix, Okka Mallek and Sara Ruiz de los Paños Bargueño. Various CD and radio recordings with Baroque music document his art.

From 2000 to 2009, Alfredo Ihl was in charge of chamber music and choir at the Apostelkirche in Hanover. As a music teacher, he works at the Humboldtschule He currently lives in Hannover, Germany,
