Indiana University Baroque/Classical Orchestra (Instrumental Ensemble)

Founded: Bloomington, Indiana, USA

The Indiana University Baroque/Classical Orchestra (= IUBO) is a major ensemble whose members perform on period instruments - instruments restored to their original specifications, or copies of original 17^th and 18^th century instruments - which are provided by the school. The repertoire performed is selected from music composed in the 17^th and 18^th century. No prior experience is necessary. "Seating" rotates, and the opportunity exists for all players to gain experience both in leading and concertante playing.
