Noëlla Huet (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: Canada

The Canadian mezzo-soprano, Noëlla Huet, graduated in 1994 with MA in Performance.

Since her graduation, Noëlla Huet, has pursued a career that allows her to address the many challenges of a diverse repertoire. Her interpretations were particularly noticed during the years in Georg Frideric Handel's Messiah (Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montréal), Dvorák's Stabat Mater by (Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal) and Maurice Duruflé's Requiem with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (Montreal Symphony Orchestra) under the baton of Charles Dutoit.

In 2000 Noëlla Huet performed again with the Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montréal in 2000 in the alto arias from the Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) by J.S. Bach. That same year, she made his debut at the Opéra de Montréal with the role of Octavia in The Coronation of Poppea by C. Monteverdi and as Kabanicha in Katya Kabanova by Leo Janáek, resumed in 2001 with the Florida Grand Opera in Miami. She also sang the role of Hänsel in Hänsel by Engelbert Humperdinck and Gretel and Mrs Sedley in Peter Grimes by Benjamin Britten.

Noëlla Huet made several international tours under his belt with the theater company Les Deux Mondes. She partyicularly excells in lyrical roles, such as Rosa, which she has performed to date in over thirty cities and nine countries around the world.

A longstanding collaboration with ensemble Pentaèdre of Montreal led to the creation of a chamber version of Gustav Mahler's Kindertotenlieder and performances of Minnelieder by the Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer.
