Undine Holzwarth (Soprano)

Born: Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany,

The German soprano, Undine Holzwarth, studied singing at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart with focus on the genres oratorio and Lied. She also studied with Helmut Lips and Thomas Pfeiffer, as well as with Elsa Cavelti in Basel. After the concert examination, she won the 1993 International Competition in Budapest Baroque Baroque prize and made her operatic debut at the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival.

Since 1996 she is a member and soloist of the Balthasar-Neumann-Chor (Director: Thomas Hengelbrock) and also participates in the Solistenensemble Stimmkunst (Director: Kay Johannsen), as well as the Ensemble Officium (Director: W. Rombach). She devotes herself beside church and oratorio works especially to the music of the 16th to 18th centuries (recordings of Sacra Par-titura by Ph. Fr. Boeddecker, SWR).
