Jo Holzwarth (Tenor)

Born: Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

The German tenor, Jo Holzwarth, made his first musical experiences in the boys' choir Collegium Iuvenum Stuttgart. He studied at Rudolf-Steiner-Schule Nürtingen Freie Waldorfschule in Nürtingen (Class of 2006). 2006 After training as a carpenter, he now studies singing at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart in the class of Teru Yoshihara. Master-classes with the Calmus Ensemble Leipzig, Singer Pur and the King's Singers gave him impulses.

In the 2008-2010 season, Jo Holzwarth worked in the ensemble of the Junge Oper Stuttgart. Various soloist engagements followed quickly throughout Germany, concert tours through Europe and Asia characterize his artistic life. He is a member of Vocalensemble Rastatt (Director: Holger Speck) and Kammerchor Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius). Jo Holzwarth is the tenor of Ensemble Encore, with whom he won the Amarcord award at the Internationalen a cappella Wettbewerb 2017 in Leipzig and the 1st Züblin Kulturpreis 2017 in Stuttgart. In the season 2016-2017 season, he was an academic in the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart. He currently lives in Stuttgart, Germany.
