Kaethe Henning (Soprano)

Born: 1984 - Palo Alto, California, USA

The American soprano, Kaethe Blue Henning, soprano, obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College in both Music and Psychological & Brain Sciences (2002-2006). While at Dartmouth, she was a soloist with the Dartmouth College Glee Club, most notably as Buttercup in HMS Pinafore (2006), George Frideric Handel's Messiah (2005), J.S. Bach's Magnificat (BWV 243) (2004), and Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas (2003). - She received her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from University of Northern Iowa (UNI), where she studied with Dr. Jean McDonald (August 2010-May 2012).

Kaethe Henning and has sung with Opera North (Lebanon, New Hampshire) for the 1991-1994 and 2005 seasons. She performed with Opera North in productions of La bohème (1991), Georges Bizet's Carmen (1992), Noye’s Fludde (1993), and Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel & Gretel (1994). She was a professional chorister with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus (SFSC) for 3 seasons (September 2007-2010). During her tenure with San Francisco Symphony Chorus, she won several solos, last appearing in the Spring Choral Concert, April 2010. She performed on the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra's 2008 Grammy Award-winning recording of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 8.

Kaethe Henning performed the soprano solos in W.A. Mozart's Requiem with Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra (NISO) and University of Northern Iowa combined choirs in April 2012. She appeared with UNI Opera Ensemble, most recently as Pamina in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (January 2012), and in scenes concerts as Blonde in W.A. Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Semele in G.F. Handel's Semele, as well as covering the role of Adele in Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss. She slso appeared with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra) (WCFSO) in "A Baroque Christmas" (December 2011), and on several of Northern Iowa Bach Cantata Series performances in 2011 and 2012. She was Soprano Section Leader in First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Choir in Waterloo, Iowa (February 2011-May 2012).

Kaethe Henning has performed with Amor Artis in New York City and East Hampton. She was pleased to rejoin Opera North, appearing in The Gondoliers. She has performed in London, Bath, Canterbury, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, as well as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Cedar Falls, Atlanta, Miami, and Honolulu (June 15, 2012)

Kaethe Henning has worked as Business Analyst at Baldwin Bell Green (August 2006-June 2007); Marketing Operations Associate at San Francisco Opera (September 2007-July 2010); Yoga Instructor in WRC Fitness Programs at University of Northern Iowa (December 2010-May 2012); Yoga Instructor at Field of Yoga in Cedar Falls, Iowa (September 2011-May 2012); Voice Teacher - Freelance Musician and Educator in Palo Alto, California (August 2011-2013); Sales Associate at Athleta in Palo Alto, California (June 2012-June 2013); Senior Director of Operations and Business Development at Xercise Lab in Palo Alto, California (September 2012-July 2014); Program Administrator at Highway1 in San Francisco (August 2014-July 2015); Program Manager at Highway1 (since July 2015). She currently lives in Palo Alto, California.
