Elisabeth Haumann (Soprano)

Born: Austria

The Austrian soprano, Elizabeth Haumann, studied at the Augsburger Leopold Mozart Konservatorium singing, piano and violin. violin. Her voice training led the soprano ito Emmy Lisken (Ingolstadt), Leonore Kirschstein (Augsburg), Rainer Hoffmann (Lied class Frankfurt), Hilde Zadek (Vienna), Ursula Lorenz (Augsburg) Liselotte Becker-Egner (operetta Augsburg) and Rita Loving (Munich). As a student she received numerous prizes at vocal competitions. In 1982 she received a scholarship from the Augsburger Richard Wagner - Association and won the 2nd Prize at the country-national competition Bayern. In 1986, she was awarded the culture prize of the city of Augsburg and the special prize at the International Robert Stolz Competition in Hamburg.

Her engagement at the Städtischen Bühnen Gießen, was followed by numerous guest appearances as a soloist at the Theater Selb, the Stadttheater Augsburg, the Kammeropern Landsberg and Neuburg, Theater Weilheim, as well as Stadttheater Nürnberg, Theater Dornbirn (Austria ), Italy, USA, Canada, etc. The versatile soprano, whose range includes opera, operetta, concerts and recitals, has often proved that she can perform not just in one genre, but has a surprisingly varied musical repertoire. Since beginning of her studies she has been heard regularly in large church concerts, oratorio performances and premieres of the composers Meinrad Schmitt and Josef Hauber. A part of the year Elizabeth Haumann is engaged as a classical singer on cruise ships.

Since Elizabeth Haumann is also active as composer and arranger for choir and brass, in 2002 came the idea to start her own vocal ensemble, for which she arranges choruses. With her ensemble, called Coro degli Angeli, she tours since October 2002 mostly in the South Germany area.
