Anna Guz (Soprano)

Born: Poland

The Polish soprano, Anna Guz, started to study voice with Teresa Skrzyńska-Zarzycka in 1990 in a secondary music school in Szczecin. Three years later she won an honourable mention at the National Vocal Competition for secondary school students in Wrocław. At present (1999) she is a student at Boźena Harasimowicz-Hass at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. She has taken part in the courses of vocal interpretation in Duszniki-Zdrój (1994, 1997) where she worked with Gerard Kahra, Delfina Ambroziak and Zofia Janukowicz-Pobłocka. In 1998 she took part in the master-classes given by Fedora Barbieri in Gdańsk (honorary diploma of participation). She also perfected her skills at an international course given by Siegfried Lorenz in Rostock. She has won a special award for the interpretation of Moniuszko Songs at the National Student Vocal Competition in Duszniki-Zdrój.

Despite her young age, Anna Guz has already given concerts in prestigious venues, such as the Baltic Philharmonic (John Rutter’s Requiem) and the Silesian Philharmonic (J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion (BWV 245) under Jerzy Sałwarowski).
