Franziska Gündert (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: July 11, ____ - Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

The German mezzo-soprano, Franziska Gündert, studied at the Musikhochschule Freiburg under Professor Sato-Schöllhorn and graduated with a master's degree in concert and opera. She deepened her singing studies in the opera class at the Conservatory of Music in Sydney with Stephen Yalouris. Furthermore, she gave successful concerts in Australia.

At the Freiburg Theater Franziska Gündert could be heard as Nireno in Giulio Cesare by George Frideric Handel, as well as at the Theater Basel in the music theater Oresteia under the direction of C. Bieito.

In addition to the opera Franziska Gündert goes to a busy concert activity. Concert tours take her to Belgium, southern France, Asia, Switzerland and Italy. She was heard in Rome with Felix Mendelssohn's Elias last year, as well as with Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria and J.S. Bach's Magnificat (BWV 243) in Padua and Venice. In December 2017, she performed as a soloist in J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) at the Freiburg Konzerthaus.

For many years Franziska Gündert has been singing in various vocal ensembles. Since 2016, she has been a member of the ChorWerk Ruhr (Director: Florian Helgath); and since July 2017 in the alto 2 of the Zürcher Sing-Akademie.

CD productions both as a soloist and as a vocal ensemble member complete her artistic activities. She currently lives in Freiburg, Germany.
