Rodney Gisick (Baritone)

Born: April 28, 1944 - Bison or Timken, Kansas, USA
Died: Dec. 25, 2011 - Bohol, Philippines

The American baritone, Rodney D. Gisick, 67, was the son of Clarence and Naomi (Reichel) Gisick. He was a 1962 graduate of Bison High School, and went on to study music at Bethany College in Lindsborg and the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he earned a master’s degree in voice performance in 1968.

Rodney Gisick was an active vocal performer and voice teacher for many years in New England, New York City and elsewhere, teaching at the University of Massachusetts and Amherst College.

Rodney Gisick died unexpectedly on December 25, 2011 in Bohol, Philippines. Survivors include: son, Michael Gisick of Canberra, Australia, daughter, Kathryn Ricker of Holden, Massachusetts, sister, Donita Goosen of Ellinwood, Kansas, grandchildren Jacob Ricker and Hannah Ricker; and two nephews.
