Marie-Frédérique Girod (Soprano)

Born: France

The French soprano, Marie-Frédérique Girod, began her vocal training at the CRR de Lyon, then specialized in early music by enrolling in 2009 at the CNSMD de Lyon in the class of Marie-Claude Vallin, assisted by M. Deguy and I . Eschenbrenner for vocal technique. Curious to discover one of the cradles of the revival of early music in Europe, and deepened her practice of the 18th century repertoire during a year (2012-2013) at the Erasmus in The Hague, with Jill Feldman, Michael Chance and Peter Kooy). In 2014 she obtained her Master's degree.

Marie-Frédérique Girod is a member of the Ensemble Pygmalion (Director: Raphaël Pichon) and La Capella Reial de Catalunya (Director: Jordi Savall). Affecting the practice of early solo repertoire or one per voice, she works in France with Affecting the practice of early solo repertoire or one per voice, she works with Le Concert de l’Hostel-Dieu (Director: Franck-Emmanuel Comte), Ensemble Correspondances (Director: Sébastien Daucé), Le Concerto Soave (Director: Jean-Marc Aymes). Le Concert Lorrain (Director: A.-C. Bucher), Les Nouveaux Caractères (Director: S. d’Hérin) or abroad with Vox Luminis (Director: Lionel Meunier). She also performs Baroque, romantic and contemporary repertoires in Lyon, with Chœur Britten (Director: N. Corti), Calliope chœur de femmes (Director: R. Théodoresco).

Having benefited from the teachings of A. Delafosse-Quentin and P. Hamon at the CNSMD in Lyon, Marie-Frédérique Girod gives a large place to the practice of medieval music and collaborates with ensembles of medieval music such as Tetraktys (K. Boeke), Roselis (A. Ramage), and Les Barbaresques, but also with ensembles of renaissance consort such as l'Oxymore (Director: N. Flodrops) , or Le Consort Aperto libro à Lyon.

On stage, Marie-Frédérique Girod performed the role of Dafne in the opera La Dafne by Gagliano in 2011 and 2014 under the direction of J.-M. Aymes, as well as various roles in Purcell's Don Quixote in April 2012, under the Direction of E. Cordoliani and P. Ayrton at the Chapelle de la Trinité with the CNSMD de Lyon. A member of the Emelthée choir, she has also participated in numerous musical theater productions with Ensemble Boréades (Invitation to Carthage, Enée auteur de sa légende, Les Poules de la Bruyère), Yves Pignard (Il était une voix, il était une vigne) at the Théâtre des Marronniers in Lyon.
