Ensemble Frauenkirche, Dresden (Instrumental Ensemble)

Founded: Dresden, Saxony, Germany

The Ensemble Frauenkirche sees itself as a musical companion of the Kammerchor der Frauenkirche and as an independent ensemble. Their work includes performing concerts, sacred music on Sundays at the Frauenkirche and the performance of cantatas during Sunday services. In many events the fixed main cast of of the ensemble is augmented by musicians from the two major orchestras of Dresden - Dresden Staatskapelle and Dresdner Philharmonie. The basic line is a simple string section with horns that can be extended.
