Born: Australia
The Australian soprano Gabrielle Fisher had singing lessons first in her native Australia and then won a scholarship to finish her studies in England.
She quickly established herself as a singer in London and came to the attention of Sir Neville Marriner. She has since performed as a soloist with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields in Spain, Switzerland and Holland. She has made several television appearances and her versatility means she is in demand both on the operatic stage and in early music.
