Olav Eriksen (Bass)

Born: February 10, 1927 - Fredrikstad, Norway
Died: May 23, 1992

The Norwegian bass, Olav [Olaf] Eriksen, trained in Copenhagen and later in Rome where he made his debut in 1955 in Mozart's La finta Giardiniera. He sang in the theatre in Mainz from 1955 to 1958 and Regensburg from 1958 to 1960, and later as a guest artist in Vienna. He sang from 1960 to 1967 at the Oslo Opera, and since l973 taught at the Music Academy in Oslo (Grosses Sangerlexikon).
