Herrat Eicker (Soprano)

Born: Germany

The German soprano, Herrat Eicker, studied at the Hochschule Detmold and Hochschule Berlin after graduating from high school.

Herrat Eicker was engaged at the Studio of the Deutsche Oper Berlin for talented young opera singers; then two years as a coloratura soprano on West German theaters; then change to the lyric field and, in addition to opera guest appearances, mainly concentrate on concert and oratorio activities. She performed in successful concert activities in many cities in Germany and abroad. She participated in festivals at home and abroad, including: Schwetzinger Festspiele, Deutsche Bachwochen, Bad Hersfelder Festspiele, Frankfurter Kirchenmusiktage, Flandern Festival, Festival de Wallonie, Festival International de Lausanne, Festival Estival de Paris, Festival d'Avignon. In 1970 and 1971 she had successful guest performances in South America, Asia and Australia as "Kluge" in Orff's opera of the same name. Her extensive repertoire included classical and modern literature.

Herrat Eicker was married with Rolf Stüssel.
