Monika Eder (Soprano)

Born: Germany

The German soprano, Monika Eder, began her study in Frankfurt, where her "nature talent" enabled her to pass the entrance examination without preliminary singing training. Already during her studies she sang as a guest roles in Darmstadt and Mainz and took over engagements for big oratorio parts and concerts. In 1994 she received her diploma in the opera and Lied class at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik in Frankfurt.

Since then Monika Eder works as free-lance opera, concert and Lieder singer with appearances in her homeland and abroad. Her preferences are for the music of Monteverdi, J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart and Schubert. The critics emphasise her impressive coloratura technique, stylistic feeling, expressive strength and joyful making music.
