The Indonesian soprano, Fidelia Esther Darmahkasih, started as a 10 years old voice lessons with soprano Renata Lim who found her talent singing. She studied at the Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, graduating in 2009 in Psychology. Since 2011, she studied for Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance at the Bowling Green State University. As a recipient of 2013 Presser Foundation Scholar Award and 1st place winner on 14th Annual Conrad Art Song competition, she successfully shows her dedication in both singing and academic during her junior year in Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in Ohio, where she has fortunate to work with tenor, Christopher Scholl.
In 2012, Fidelia Esther Darmahkasih has been selected as a finalist in BGSU Concerto Competition in music performance. Recently, she also appeared as a Shepherdess in Didoclesian and Phoebe (arranged by Shield) in George Frideric Handel's Hercules as well as chorus member in full production of Mikado with BGSU Opera Theater. As a soprano soloist, she has perfomed Schubertís Mass in G Major with Cory-Rawson High School, Psalmfest by John Rutter with St. Mark Lutheran Choir, and Mozart's Coronation Mass in C with Eliata Choir in Indonesia, Jakarta.
Fidelia Esther Darmahkasih has been selected to receive numerous scholarships include Agnes Fowler Scholarship (2013), Cathy McCambridge Memorial Scholarship (2012) and Marie Zigman Scholarship for her discipline and exceptional achievement both in music and academic. She enjoy perform opera, oratorio, as well as chamber music repertoire. In summer 2013, she is looking forward to share her passion in music at Blue Lake Arts Camp as a counselor. She is a member of Golden Key International Honor Society.
