Jean-Léon Cohen (Piano)

Born: 1934 - France

The French pianist, Jean-Léon Cohen, studied with Vlado Perlemuter at the Paris Conservatoire.

Jean-Léon Cohen's career has been based in the city of Rennes. He was a Professor at the Conservatoire de Rennes from 1959 to 1998. He has been an enthusiastic advocate of the music of Henri Dutilleux, Olivier Messiaen and Frank Martin. In 2013, he recorded the complete piano works of Martin and in 2015, keyboard works of J.S. Bach, both albums for Forgotten Records.
