Philippe Caillard (Choral Conductor)

Born: 1924 - Paris, France

Philippe Caillard a French choir director, a professor of music education, Technical and Educational Advisor to the Ministry of Youth. He has recorded over 30 records exclusively for Erato, 15 of which won the Grand Prix du Disque. He specializes in teaching choral conducting and pedagogy, and founded a vocal ensemble that bears his name, originally specialized in the works of the Renaissance, but whose repertoire has expanded over the years. He has transcribed and edited early vocal music. He hasc directed various professional choirs of European radio stations and gave concerts directing his choirs at international festivals.
