Barbara van der Boom (Soprano)

Born: Kleve (Niederrhein), Germany

The German soprano, Barbara van der Boom, studied first to be a banker, and then singing with Peter Ziethen at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold. She finished her studies with diploma for singing teacher, artistic maturity examination, and concert exam. In 1994 she received first prize with the Federal Singing Competition of North Rhine-Westphalia in the category of opera.

Barbara van der Boom has appeared numerous times as a soloist, especially within the field of new music. She is also active as a teacher for singing.
