Carolina Bengtsdotter-Ljung (Contralto)

Born: Dalecarlia, Sweden

The Swedish contralto, Carolina Bengtsdotter-Ljung, received her education at Gothenburg Academy of Music and at the University College of Opera in Stockholm. In 1996 she was awarded with the Jussi Bjorling-Prize as well as the Bayreuthscholarship from the Swedish Richard Wagner Society.

From 1999 to 2003 Carolina Bengtsdotter-Ljung was engaged as a soloist at Nationaltheater Mannheim in Germany. Since 2000 she is back in Sweden again, after the birth of her two daughters and is a freelance singer.
