Marta Angelici (Soprano)

Born: May 22, 1907 - Corsica
Died: September 11, 1973

The soprano Marta Angelici was a famous Corsican singer. She made her debut in 1938 as La Plieuse in Louise (Charpentier). Her husband was the director of Paris Opéra after 1945. She sang Micaëla, Bohême, Madama Butterfly, and ( magnificently ) recorded several LP's of sacred Music, including Charpentier's Te Deum and French 18th century composers. She was a teacher of Alfred Mahy.
